Something to Think About

Just sitting here. . .

I have 91 entries on my blog. I appreciate those who follow my blog. I don't feature patterns; it is a journey of a person who is a regular tatter with a experienced beginner ability. I share my flops and success, sometimes feature books I think would help new tatters progress, a bit about family's activities, feature the tatting gifts that others have given me so I can share their talents, celebrate exchanges…nothing unique, really. So, the fact that I have followers always rather amazes!

Consequently, on my 100th entry, I will announce the winner of a Thank You gift box from Ridgetatter. If you aren't a tatter and follow my blog, you are more than likely a crafter or sewing person; and, I have things crafters, and needle workers would like in a surprise box. Nothing fabulous, mind you, just a thank you from Bev.

CRIPES, where DID you get that picture of Nick sitting at the top of your blog thinking? His nickname used to be 'the poison dwarf' and that reminds me of him!!!!

Fun to lok forward to, I enjoy seeing everyone's "giveaways". I admire everyone who is brave enough to have a blog - I probably shouldn't read them, should I, if I am not prepared to put my own out there!

Oh, I'm hopeless, Bev, so I'm just stopping by to say hello and not to enter, things for needleworkers I'm afraid would be wasted on me if I were to win...I did used to do a LOT of needlework, but my eyes -- the cost of the surgery so that I could drive was the sacrifice of my near vision -- I just went to a new eye doctor in the hope he could tell me there is a way to get back some of the near vision, but even with these coke-bottle glasses...nope...

Getting to know fellow tatters online is what has kept me learning! Three years ago I was a sometimes tatter, never improving my technique, always feeling dissatisfied with my progress. Reading about other tatters' hits and misses has played a big part in keeping my interest alive. I'm glad you're one of my tatting buddies!

Jane! Law, I need to see a picture of your Nick now; I think my fellow is quite handsome! Love his pointy ears and cute little lips! LOL
Mareen: Sorry, I don't get the connection between not having a blog and reading them. I don't have an elephant but I like to look at them! :>) I love your comments; keep 'em coming!
Now, Now Penniwig: You think a collector of the obsolete and unique doesn't have stuff tucked away that you would like? Would I have a surprise for you, if you win. Besides, you might get stuck with some of my personal tatting. LOL One of the people I loved most in life was from your town in TX…he told me of "palms along the Pecos" and I figured that was a story Ajax would not wash off. (also one of his sayings) He's gone now, was married to my best of the west barrel racing gal pals. OH my ring arrived today ~ thank you VERY much!
I love it ~ will take a pix of it and the ear rings I have (if I can find them) that will match my ring!
Diane: You would have to be my friend with just the name, Lace-lovin Librarian; my two favorite things Lace and Reading. You are the whole package!
XXXX and hugs, Bev

Bev, I'm not a follower coz I read all the updated blogs everyday and it seems a waste of space to me but for some, it's the best way to keep up. I don't think it's about patterns or giveaways or anything like that. It's about sharing perspectives and experiences and knowing we're more alike than we are different. I think the blogs make us human, rather than words on a screen with an opinion. LOL! You have interesting things to share and we like to tune in. :-)

I enjoy following others blogs and seeing the many things they are tatting. Love to see the progress of their many projects and the wonderful finished items. It is an education in itself. It's fun to hear about their families and what else they are doing. By the way is your roof finally done? Haven't heard much lately in that department.

Ooh, I remember when my first blog (a "mommy" blog) had reached it's first 100 posts milestone. (Nobody read it, but that's okay. I wrote it for me.)

Hoping you are thrilled, excited, proud and energized! Tat Land would lose some of it's shine if you weren't in it. I am delighted to have your blog to read on a regular basis.

Lifting my teacup in your honor, I wish you many more blog posts and a wonderful tatting journey in the days/weeks/months/years to come!

I don't blog but love reading other peoples blogs. I'm trapped at home a lot-- not enough cars to go around- and following some of these blogs helps me feel like I'm not so isolated. Besides that, everyone's willingness to share their talents, tips and suggestions has finally helped me be successful with my tatting. Thanks!

Thank you for all the comments and for visiting
I'm pretty much kept at home, also; so, I know how important the blogs can be!

Sometimes, when I'm feeling yucky, I go to the dashboard and go through all the blogs that I follow; and I always feel better after and if I don't feel better physically; at least my outlook has improved.

I appreciate my 'visitors' too, not just those who are followers. I just thought that any one who would follow this for a year deserved a chance at a treat. LOL

XX Bev

Becoming a part of the online tatting world has been a wonderful way for me to meet fellow artisans. The only negative is it takes time away from crafting :-)

Happy 91st, soon to be 100th, blog entry.
