“A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever"

Table Topper Tatted by:  Marty Lewis

You can imagine how ‘blown-away’ I was when THIS came in the mail.  Marty and I had made some agreements and in lieu of her idea; I asked for something she’d tatted.  Well, I had in mind a book mark, coaster; something simple.  However, this lovely table topper in my favorite colors arrived...Blue and Chocolate!  To say thank you does not seem hardly enough, but I am so thankful for Marty’s gift and her beautiful work.  I am blessed.

As if the table topper was not enough, I received these two dressed-up shuttles.  One is a clover and one is an aero.  I love the paisley blue swirl and I’m using the ladybug on a daisy for the necklace I’m working on at present.  I need to finish it because I won’t have the use of my right hand for a while after my surgery.  I have silk thread on the blue one for free-form flowers for the baby’s headband.

I heard that my friend Luz was very, very happy and blessed by her Blue rosary.  I guess her friends asked her all kinds of questions about this Anglo friend who did this work.  If it gave Luz joy, it fulfilled its mission.

Trying to get the necklace that matches the ear rings finished.  I gave Kristen the ear rings to open at the Baby Shower on Sunday but I need to get the necklace finished since I can’t use my hand for a couple of weeks.  It is Lynn Morton’s Filigree Triangular necklace on page 17 of her newest book, “Tatting Jewelry”  I’m using OB gold thread and little seed pearls.  Kris asked if I could replace the chain with tatting, so I’ll do split rings, for simplicity; as the triangle is elaborate.  I’m using Tatskool’s Antique Gold HDT to replace the chain.  Here is a peek to satisfy the curious!

My surgery is definitely scheduled for Good Friday (I know, but it was unavoidable) so I’ll be out of commission that weekend.  I hope I feel well enough to get to services on Sunday; I’m going to try.  Easter is my favorite ‘holiday’.  Filled with hope, resurrection, and spring colors.
It is a Holy time for me.

Nautical Knitter: I’ll ask Marty about the pattern.
Fox: LOL Yes, I’m sure it is Friday. I checked in with Surgery Scheduler today! They DID move it up from 11:30 AM to 1:15 PM.
Sally: Yes, Marty is generous. That is MY kind of person. Other directed. I embrace that philosophy, too!
Jane: You bet ~ soon as I get back to the motel. I have a good left hand and I can hunt and peck a keyboard. Not as fast as 2 hands; but, I’ll “get er done.” LOL
Journey: “He IS Risen” I love that greeting on Easter morning. My Pastor came by with communion this morning and I was so happy to see him.
Thank you ALL for your visit to my blog.

I was really excited just now, to see that you have been the recipient of that gorgeous doily! - I LOVE the colours, what a magnificent arrangement you came to!
Strange that elective surgery has been scheduled for a Public holiday - although perhaps it isn't a holiday in America as it is here? This year we have five public holidays for Easter, since Anzac Day falls on one of the gazetted days.

Easter is kept by the religious and those believers who are faithful. But in general Easter has become as commercial as Christmas in the good ole USA. Sad to say.

The surgery wasn’t really all that elective; I just decided to fight this kidney failure and not give up. If I’d not had it this Friday, it was another 2 months until the surgeon was available. I’m told he’s the best vascular surgeon around AZ.
