FIRST GOAL ACCOMPLISHED

SCMR I have been talking about learning SCMR technique for a year. A year ago, in an online class, I gave it a go ~ and it was a no go. First, I forgot to put the shuttle through the loop (twice); then, when I did the fist stitch I left a "gaposis". Frustrated, I set that technique aside.



However, I kept finding patterns that I liked that had an SCMR; and, was stymied. Well no excuses, I had two sources of information; Jane Eborall's visual and Terry McGuffin's written directions. Cerebral understanding of the principle; yes, I just wasn't having success in the doing of same.

2009 arrived and it was at the top of my "Learn This Year" list. Along with revisiting split chains (but that's another story). I was fiddling with hearts (Valentine's is coming) between finishing the UFO's (only 2 to go).

I decided to do the Tensy Forsythia Heart from Martha Ess' book, "Tat's Amore"

This is the result. I've made four of them. I am ecstatic and inordinately proud of my accomplishment. After success on the first try, I just had to keep making them to make sure it was locked into a memory muscle!

Size 30 thread in soft green and yellow, Vintage Clark's Big Ball (I know, it looks gold, but trust me it is yellow in person). The SCMR is the bottom point of the heart.



I probably should have blocked this first, but I was so excited about actually being able to do the SCMR in one go ~ that I had to scan it right away. In case it was a dream!
