Tatting in Tucson, Arizona

The Tucson Heart Hospital is staffed by lovely, caring people. This is important because the only time my DH (Loyal) has ever been in hospital has been for cardiac events. I want to thank the tatting community for their many prayers and well wishes that have arrived in my 'in' box.

Monday at 6 AM is the day and time they will replace Loyal's Aortic valve. They had thought he might need 2 new valves and a by pass; but, no. That is a blessing. His team of Doctors are doing a newer protocol; which means his chest won't be opened from stem to stern; but, a smaller 6" incision will be made. Pray that the procedure takes and his body doesn't reject the new tissue (not implanting the metal sort; differs from Thoracic surgeon's points of view) They are building him up with vitamins and hydration.

I'm tatting and tatting and our daughter, Kristen, will arrive from Sacramento on Sunday and I'll have company. While we were gone, Rebekah moved all the furniture out of our bedroom, shampooed the rug (repeatedly) and painted the walls with the paint I'd purchased for that purpose.

Well, the battery is getting low on my new, handy 13" Apple MacBook, so I'd better tend to that! I will get back to blogging as soon as there is new tatting news. I'm working on Design Lesson four. OH, and my cousin loved his hat band; will post a photo later...

what a wonderful granddaughter you have! So you will be able to enjoy the fresh surroundings when you go home.
I think, time-wise, loyal's operation will probably be on Tuesday here, so I will be sure to think of him on our Moving Day!

So glad that Loyal's op will not be a big as you feared. Will be thinking of you both.

Thanks for dropping by, Ladies!
Loyal really appreciates all of your notes, e-mails and good wishes. It's Sunday and he is in the shower, happy as a clam. I pick up Kristen today at the Air Terminal. Things are moving right along...
I know that Monday will be difficult for him; and, they say they'll have him up and walking with in a day or so! We are expecting the best outcome for Loyal; and, do pray for his cardiac team. All but one of the staff are very congenial and helpful.
love, Bev

I will be praying for Loyal and for you. The smaller incision should mean a shorter recovery period, so I am glad he qualified for that version of the procedure.

By this time Loyal's surgery should be done. I pray that everything went well and that he is recovering. Hope to hear good news from you soon.
