LAST POST

Gottcha!  This is the last post for March.  I wanted to end the month with a tatted piece that was finished!  So many interruptions by chatty Cathy’s slows up my tatting progress because I can’t listen and talk; and still tat successfully.  But I can walk and chew gum at the same time!
This is the Blue Rosary for Luz Melendez, my friend and co-great grandmother.  LOL  She is a very sweet, fun lady.
Design: J. Lugert  Size 20 HDT Morning Glory by Yarnplayer; genuine pearls, sterling charm, silver metallic thread cross by Jane Eborall designs.  Had wanted to use a dark royal blue thread, so the pearls would be featured; but, that thread kept splitting and breaking so after the fourth try I gave up on that venture.  Disappointing but I do like the way Morning Glory turned out and it tatted up beautifully.  I never have a bad tatting session with hand dyed threads.

Began a second rosary for the Paternal Grandmother of baby Zella.  Georgia likes earth colors, so has chocolate pearls and I’m using Coco-Lime HDT (it looks really great so far).  I want to incorporate two rectangular, polished tiger eye; but, of course, can’t put those in a split ring.  They would be the first three stones above the cross.  I wish I’d bought an antiqued bronze crucifix and charm; but, didn’t think it through and bought sterling.  I do have platinum pearls, but she really likes browns, greens ~ even her Christmas tree last year was all gold, tan, bronze and green and was really stunning.

I’m currently trying to fill a custom order for dimensional blooms and leaves done on a baby’s headband.  You’ve seen the Baby Headbands with flowers, I’m sure.  This Momma wants tatted flowers.  I have an iris pattern by Marie smith that pulls up and is dimensional; and, I have a rose that also gathers up and would fit on a head band.  But Momma would like the ‘flower’ or decoration to be at least 2 1/2 “.  So time to put my thinking cap on; or, search for patterns.  Oh and the sheep are still a graze and waiting for attention along with Jane Critter’s for a babies quilt.  I had better be around for a long while.

Don’t forget to pray on April 8th, that is the day I have surgery for the fistula.  I’m a bit apprehensive since I don’t know this surgeon.  If it were Dr. Schwartz in YC it would be a breeze as he has such a great surgery and team.

First, let me say that the rosary is just beautiful!! I had to go find the pattern. Second, I will be praying for you on the 8th. Your last paragraph got my attention because I have a fistula and I was just shocked to see that word in your post.

Mine is in my mouth and was caused by a root canal gone wrong. Please keep us all informed about how it goes.

Blessings, Deborah

Man, oh man - you really scared me! My poor ticker is still hammering away... Good one!

That header photo is FABULOUS! She is such a gorgeous animal.

Yes, indeed, I will be thinking about you on the 8th. Eight is a good number I have heard, so you are covered on that score.

Your tatted piece is very pretty - great colour and delicate design. Lovely,
♥ Fox : )

Welcome to my blog Nautical Knitter, nice to have you drop by.
Boy! Wish I could sit and talk to you and find out more about the fistula. Mine is setting up for dialysis later, when it is time to begin.
Yes, I’ll keep everyone informed. I have a circle of tatting friends who have good thoughts and prayers for my health.
There are a number of tatters who face real challenges in their lives; I’m just among that number.
Again, thanks for visiting and I hope you do come back again. bj

The rosary turned out really beautiful. I know it gave you all kinds of headaches, so I'm proud of you for getting it done.

I'll be thinking of you on the 8th.

I love the close-up of Pippa. Her eyes are like sparkling jewels.

Bev, you did a wonderful job tatting the rosary. Love the colors that you picked.
You are already in my prayers and I'll say a special one on 4/8. Know things will go great for you that day.

Like Fox, I too was a little peturbed when I first read the title of your post! - but I had decided that it probably referred to your move from The Ridge.
I have marked April 8th on my calendar, and I'm sure with so many people thinking about you that it will all go well.
I love the rosary! - and is Zella the name that has already been chosen for the new baby?

Purrrrfect rosary - did Pippa help you? Good luck with the surgery - you'll be FINE. As long as they don't take out your sparkle that's the only thing I worry about.

Your rosary turned our very lovely. Dark blue would have been pretty, but I think the variegated thread is somehow gentler, very suited to a rosary.
I'm sending good vibes your way -- and a little something else. I hope it's the right colors!

I tend to agree. I think the dark blue would have been nice, but the Morning Glory shading is perfect for this rosary. Very nicely done!

My thoughts and prayers will be with you on the 8th!

Very Pretty BJ, it worked out great. you have a very good eye for color, so I know this next rosary will be just right. Thanks for using my pattern. I really do need to spend the time to get it re-drawn better with software.
